Aims, Objectives & Philosophy of the Organisation

The aim of Oakland Nursing Home is to provide a high level of nursing care for all service users. This standard which embraces fundamental principles of good care practice may be witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality care within the home.
To enhance their quality of life through a person-centred approach and by providing a safe, supportive, manageable and comfortable environment.
Service users can enjoy life within an atmosphere of empathy - and Oakland Nursing Home respects the individual's right to choice, dignity and privacy.
The service users will :-
Be treated with respect, dignity and kindness irrespective of gender, race, colour, creed, culture, health status or any other factors which can result in wrongful discrimination.
Live secure in the knowledge that they will be cared for as an individual, in familiar surroundings.
Enjoy life among kindred spirits in an atmosphere of sympathy and understanding and continue to be an active member of the community - having the opportunity to express opinions on the resources, environment and services provided by the home.
Be cared for by staff who appreciate their need for privacy and who will, in all situations, respect their dignity and freedom of choice.
Be addressed as they desire and receive visitors at any reasonable time.
Enjoy good relationships with staff and, where necessary, have access to independent advocates for support and advice.
Live in a clean and safe environment which provides privacy and comfort and, where possible, manage their own private affairs.

It is the aim of Oakland Nursing Home to:-
Ensure that the service is delivered in accordance with the Statement of Terms and Conditions agreed on admission.
Manage and implement staff recruitment, selection, training and personal development to enable the needs of service users to be met fully.
Manage the service efficiently and effectively making the best use of resources and to maximise value for money.
Ensure that all service users receive written information on the home's procedure for handling complaints, comments and compliments, and how to use it.
